Helen Marie Stines

Helen Marie Stines, 71, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on December 24, 2019 at her home. She was born on July 12, 1948 in Port Clinton, the daughter of the late Hugo and Dorothy Heinzl.  Helen graduated from Danbury Lakeside High School in 1966, and enrolled in the Tiffin School of Cosmetology where she received her Associate of Cosmetology degree in 1966.  Helen owned and operated Autumn Mist Beauty Salon in Port Clinton and was a beautician for almost 40 years. She then was the Head Cook at the Ottawa County Jail until her retirement in 2005.  She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Danbury Township, where she became the first female Deacon and was a member of council and the Archives committee. She was a Past President of the Danbury Music Boosters for 10 years; Flag Corp advisor for Danbury High School as well as a volunteer for the Cabaret Musical.  She loved crafts and ceramics, and enjoyed supporting her grandsons at their sporting events.  Survivors include her children, Paul Clayton Stines III, Crystal Chapman, and Andrew Stines; grandsons, Justin, Dalton (Alyscia), Ryan and Nolan Chapman;  and brother, David Heinzl. She was preceded in death by her parents.  Visitation will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 541 Church Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 10 am until Funeral Services at 12 pm with Pastor Beth Westphal officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or to the Danbury High School Parent-Teacher Council Organization to go towards the Band Uniform Fund, 9451 E.
