Helen M. LaVoy Jensen Rudnicki, age 87, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Thursday, August 30, 2012. She was born on September 11, 1924 in Toledo, Ohio to William and Pearl Huff LaVoy. Helen graduated from Whitmer High School in 1942. She married her first husband, Jerome Jensen in 1946 and together they raised a family of nine children until his death in 1975, celebrating 29 years of marriage. Helen married Cas Rudnicki in 1983, and they recently celebrated their 29th Anniversary. She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and creating crafts. Helen delighted in spoiling her family at Christmastime with homemade jellies, jams, cookies and gifts. She cherished her winters in Florida with her children who lived there. She loved a good game of Euchre and loved to celebrate holidays and birthdays with her family. Helen was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and adoring grandmother and great-grandmother, and she was the heart of our family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Helen was a member of the Santa Maria Circle of the Daughters of Isabella which she joined in 1954 and faithfully served for over 55 years. She was a member of the Regina Coeli Church since 1983 where she served in various volunteer positions and held offices in the Altar and Rosary Society. Helen is survived by her loving husband, Casimir; children, Margaret Richard Buckler, Diane Terry Stein, David Lonnee Jensen, Karen Steve Peake, Rita Jeff Dartt, Paul Betty Jensen, Stephen Sue Jensen and Lauri David Paine; her step-daughters, Mary Anne Michael McCarthy and Paulette Ken Moszkowicz; 28 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother, John LaVoy. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerome Romey Jensen; son, Jerome Jerry Jensen; sisters, Mary Osterberg and Dorothy Bartel, and brothers, Robert and Richard LaVoy. Visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania west of Corey Rd. on Monday, September 3, 2012 from 3 to 9 PM with a scripture service and a sharing of memories at 8 PM. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 530 Regina Pkwy, on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 with the rosary recited at 10:30 AM and Mass at 11 AM. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Heartbeat of Toledo a pregnancy support center 4041 W. Sylvania Ave. Suite LL4, Toledo, OH 43623.
