Helen L Mccauley

Helen L. McCauley, age 75, of Swanton passed away unexpectantly Sunday, July 30 2017. She was born January 24, 1942 in Toledo to Vernon and Mildred (Martin) Combs. A graduate of Macomber-Whitney High School she was employed in Human Resources with Pilliod Cabinet Company and SK Hand Tools. Helen was a member of St. Richards Church where she served as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist. She also served and shared the Eucharist with the homebound and the residents of Harborside/Genesis Health Care. She volunteered serving meals at Trinity United Methodist Church. Helen was a past cheerleading coach at St. Pius X parish. She loved gardening, especially her fairy garden, her dog Buster, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, David whom she missed and loved immensely. Helen was also preceded in death by her son Tim; parents; and brother Bill. Surviving are her children Michelle (Drew Slomka) Roscoe, Shawn (Craig Kennedy) McCauley and Kim (John) Downey; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Wednesday from 3-7 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday after 9 AM in St. Richards Church 333 Brookside Dr., Swanton where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Trinity United Methodist Church Community Meal Program 210 N.
