Helen Irene Macleod

Helen Irene Macleod, age 84, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on July 27, 2026.

Born on November 21, 1941, in Derby, England, Helen was the daughter of Arthur and Grace (Turner) Walker. At the age of 15, Helen went to work for Elastic Yarns in Nottingham. She later worked as a Make-Up Sales Consultant for Jacobsons. Helen then served customers at Yaeger's Shoes in Toledo, OH for many years.

In 1963, Helen married Ian Macleod. Together they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage before Ian's passing. In 1976, Helen and Ian relocated from England to Rossford, Ohio, with their two daughters, Barbara and Fiona.

Anyone who knew Helen knew how much she loved to clean and keep a tidy home. She was an avid reader. Helen also had a passion for travel and enjoyed exploring the world, with memorable trips that included Australia and South America.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Rick Wells) Macleod; grandchildren, Alec Romanko, Wesley Romanko, Grace Romanko, and Gavin Mahoney. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ian Macleod; her daughter, Fiona Romanko; her parents, Arthur and Grace Walker; her stepmother, Doris Walker; and her brother, Norman (Shirley) Walker.

A memorial service/celebration of life will be held at Epworth Methodist Church on August 6th at 5pm.
