Helen M. (Kasch) Hahn, age 98, formerly of Northwood, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Otterbein Perrysburg. Helen was born on September 28, 1919 to Fred W. and Anna (Musbach) Kasch on Lenk’s Hill, Toledo. She was a 1937 graduate of Libby High School and married Frederick W. Helen and Fred shared 66 wonderful, loving years of marriage before his death in 2007, and renewed their wedding vows on their 60th anniversary in 2002. She participated for years in local craft shows, displaying a variety of crafts, including wood items, cut by her husband, which she painted and decorated. Helen and Fred enjoyed traveling in their motor home, camping at Maumee Bay State Park and touring most of the USA and Canada as members of the “Honey Bees” Travel Club. They enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Alaska and Mexico. Together they wintered in FL (since 1981) and enjoyed fishing, boating and golfing for over 20 years at their summer home on Catawba, and later in Marblehead. In more recent years, she traveled with Fred on conducted bus trips. Helen was a member of Mainstreet Church for many years, still participating in their Friendship Bible class, and was formerly a 30 year member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, where she recently re-joined. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; son, Jeffrey Hahn; siblings, Harold Kasch and Ruth Rosene and her cat, Smokey. Left to cherish her memory, are her children, Michael Hahn and Fred (Denise) Hahn, Jr.; grandchildren, Michelle (Rob) Avers and Jennifer (Bryan) Welsh; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jeremy and Nathan Avers, Avery and Graham Welsh; godchild, Cathy Pacha and many loving nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 2:00-8:00 p.m at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St. Walbridge, Ohio (419-666-3121). Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury. Memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, Mainstreet Church, or Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the amazing staff at both Otterbein Perrysburg and Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice for the loving care shown to Helen over the last year. “Scatter me not to restless winds, nor toss my ashes to the sea. Remember now those years gone by…When loving gifts I gave to thee. Remember now the happy times…the family times we shared. Don’t leave my resting place unmarked as though you never cared. Deny me not one final gift…for all who came to see…a single lasting proof that says I love…and you love me.”
