HELEN M. LAYMAN Helen M. (Nietz) Layman, age 98, of Pemberville, passed away peacefully January 7, 2013, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. She was born in Walbridge on October 26, 1914, to Fred and Nora (Muhl) Nietz. Helen was employed for Haskins Laundry as a clerk. On October 29, 1936 in Toledo, Helen married the love of her life Howard A. Layman. She was a 77 year member of Moline United Methodist Church. She was the church’s Historian for 28 years. Helen was also a member of the Perrysburg Chapter OES #446 for 62 years, serving as a past Matron. She is survived by her loving daughters, Judith (the Late Ray) Powell and Kathie (Robert) LaBeau; grandchildren, Tami, Wendy, Erik, and Erin; one great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons due in April; brothers, Fred (Eleanor) Nietz and Edward (Bernice) Nietz; and brother-in-law, Samuel Layman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard Layman; son, Dean A. Layman; and four brothers and one sister. Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 2-8pm in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 701 N. Main St. Walbridge (419-666-3121) where Order of Eastern Star services will be held at 7pm. A luncheon will be served on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at noon in Moline United Methodist Church 28010 E. Broadway Walbridge, Ohio 43465 followed by funeral services at 2:00pm.
