Hamblin Helen G. Helen G. Hamblin, age 75, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio in the Toledo Inpatient Unit. She was born on March 10, 1934 in Rockview, WV to Oley and Irene Stewart. Helen was a food supervisor for the former Golden Haven Nursing Home for 25 years. She then went to work at McDonalds Restaurant at Talmadge and Monroe for 9 years retiring in 1999. She was an avid hockey fan of the Toledo Golddiggers and the Toledo Storm. The Canadian players considered her their American mother. She would always furnish a meal for them either at her home or for their bus trips. Preceded in death by her father, Oley; brothers, Jimmy and Glen Stewart; and husbands, Gordon Mounts and Bob Hamblin. Helen is survived by mother, Irene Stewart; long time partner, Jack Ries; daughters, Sherry Al Papier and Kim Harold Sparks; grandchildren, Matthew Mounts, Jamie Papier, Alison Kyle Korte and Amy Mounts; great-grandchildren, Kane Mounts, Cole Bearinger, Alexis Papier and Grace Korte; brothers, Charles, Jerry, Lacy, and Buren Stewart; sisters, Rita Young and Doris Hall and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit the family at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. on Thursday from 6 to 9 pm and Friday from 2 to 9 pm with funeral services at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 am. Interment at Amboy Township Cemetery.
