Helen E. Furstnau

Helen E. Furstnau, 94, of Curtice, Ohio, died Thursday, May 24, 2012 in the Edward & Marion Knight Hospice Center, Perrysburg, Ohio. Helen was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on April 18, 1918 to William and Amelia Base Carris. She married Leroy G. Furstnau on February 14, 1969 in St. Johns United Church of Christ, Elmore, Ohio and he preceded her in death on April 7, 2012. Helen was a graduate of Elmore High School, class of 1936. She was homemaker who worked side by side with her husband, Leroy, on their farm their whole married life. She loved working on the farm no matter the task. Helen was a past member of the garden club and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Williston, Ohio. Helen is survived by her children, Gary L. Jeanette Worthington of Millbury, OH, Bill E. Kay Worthington of Fremont, OH, son-in-law, Lowell Knieriem of Ontario, Canada, seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Bonnie L. Knieriem, and brother, Norman Carris. A service for Helen will be conducted at 11 AM, Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, OH. Interment will follow in the Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, Ohio. The family suggests memorial contributions in Helens memory to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
