Helen Marie Evanoff September 1, 1930 – October 10, 2019 Thank you Jesus for giving us the life of Helen Marie (Marcinek) Evanoff and welcoming her into your Heavenly Kingdom. Helen was born on September 1, 1930 in Northwood, Ohio. She was one of nine children born from the union of the late Josef and the late Katarzina (Sosnowski) Marcinek. She attended Northwood High school where she graduated with the class of 1948. Helen married the love of her life, William Evanoff on July 11, 1952 in Toledo Ohio. From this beloved union came the birth of three children. Helen was employed as a secretary at various businesses in the area and finally as a Teletype operator for Owens-Corning. Helen received her religious nourishment through St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Rossford as a life member. She was a spiritual being, dedicated church goer and member of the choir for many years. In her later years, Helen occasionally attended Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Helen spent much of her free time gardening, traveling, spending time with family and polka and square dancing. In her later years, she was a regular Bingo and card player at the Rossford Senior Center, and the biggest fan at her grandchildren’s special events. Helen Marie Evanoff, age 89 of Rossford passed away at 10:56 am on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Lakes of Sylvania. Previously she was an inpatient at the Hospice of Northwestern Ohio. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by her loving husband of fifty-four years, William Evanoff in 2007. Her death was preceded by her siblings: Steven Dotts, Walter Marcinek, Jacob Marcinek, Rose Garvin, Frances Quetscke, Stella Wieczorek, Frank Marcinek, Josephine Kozina. To cherish her memory, Helen leaves three children: Denise (Mark) Davis of Holland, Ohio, Michele (Matt) Moore of Rochester, Michigan and William (Patty) Evanoff of Loveland, Ohio; grandchildren: Heather (Erik) Christensen of Ottawa Hills, Ohio; Jessica Evanoff of Columbus, Ohio, Julia Evanoff of Columbus, Ohio, Christopher Davis of Ann Arbor, Sarah Moore of Berkley, Michigan and Jaclyn (Stephen) LaPierre of Ferndale, Michigan; and three great grandchildren: Ethan, Micah and Elijah Christensen. Friends may gather on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 871 E. South Boundary Street Perrysburg, OH. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm with Reverend Jeff Bunke officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church Fellowship Hall. Arrangements have been entrusted to Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419)865-8879. The family would like to send a special thanks for all the care provided by Helen’s neighbors, extended family, the staff at the Lakes of Sylvania and the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
