Helen E Brown. January 17 1941-April 3, 2026 It is with deep sorrow that Helen E Brown, Port Clinton, Ohio has passed after a gallant and graceful battle with cancer. Helen was a was wife, sister, mother, teacher, coach, mentor and a friend to so many people. Helen left an indelible mark on the lives she touched. She departed this life surrounded by family and friends and loved ones.
Helen dedicated her life to inspiring others through education and guidance. As a person who lost her parents at a very young age she knew her life was going to be driven as a mentor to generations of students, and empowering them with invaluable life skills. As a teacher in the Port Clinton City School system, she taught countless students and people's minds and hearts, as to build them for successful lives. She lead her community in Port Clinton to have a desire to learn and succeed. Her classroom was a place of encouragement, curiosity and compassion. In addition to her teaching career, she was an inspiring coach who believed in the power of teamwork and perseverance. Her influence went beyond the classroom, as she guided people, through her faith and grace. She nurtured her faith and taught all those that she came across the values of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. She ensured those that were around her, as well as others the lessons of integrity, dedication and resilience long after they left the classroom, and went on to live their lives. A natural mentor she was known for her unwavering support and kindness She was true role model and was always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand. Her life long works helped shape generations of minds and guiding all to become Christians and confident and responsible individuals. Helen's legacy is one of love, service and unwavering commitment to the growth of others.
She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Brown (Kelli) and son Michael Brown (Annie) along with her six grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a wide circle of friends and family whose lives she touched profoundly. She was proceed in death by her lovely husband, Thomas Brown, parents, Eric and Eleanor Winters, parent in laws, Virgil and Nellie Brown, along with seven sisters and a brother. After the loss of her biological parents in her youth, she was raised with love and care by Gilberent and Pauline Wallace, who played a central role in her life. They have both preceded her in death.
A celebration and service of her life will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 135 Adams Street, Port Clinton, with visitation from 9 am until a memorial service at 11 am. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to a charity of their choice reflecting her life long dedication to education and community service.
