Helen Diver Dunlap, age 88, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2022, at her home in Sylvania, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born at home on Walnut Street, Toledo, Ohio to Julia and Peter Diver, originally of Greece, on November 14, 1933.
Helen was a graduate of the University of Toledo, where she majored in business and was on the Homecoming Court her senior year. She was a loyal member of Tri Delta Sorority, and she prided herself on being a woman of business, holding executive positions at Doehler Jarvis, Craftmaster and Pathology Laboratories. She was strong and independent, as well as kind and compassionate, and always impeccably dressed.
Helen was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral and celebrated her Greek heritage with trips to Greece and maintaining close relationships with her extended family. She was a world traveler, an avid bridge player, and had many close friends. When you met Helen, you knew that you had a friend- she took a genuine interest in everyone she met. Helen’s greatest love and joy was the time that she spent with her family, who loved her dearly.
Helen is predeceased by her brother Jerry (Patricia) Diver and companion Andre Stephen. She is survived by her children Robert (Karen) Dunlap, Sandra (Tom) Ceglarek, Susan (Bob) West, and Michael (Mary Ann) Dunlap. Helen’s grandchildren include Brooke (Jeff) West, Stefanie (Nick) Benner, Chelsea (Dave) Sparks, Bobby (Kate) Dunlap, Caitlin Ceglarek, Amber (Matt) Joseph, Taylor (Sam) Dunlap and Scott Dunlap.
