Helen M. Doroda

Helen M. Doroda, 89, of Maumee, OH passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee, OH.  She was born on January 31, 1933 in Battle Creek, MI to Michael G. and Anna E. (Becki) Doroda.  Helen was previously employed as an assembler for Lott Industries in Toledo.  She had been a longtime resident of Sunshine Communities in Maumee, OH, where she was known to be a very sweet woman with a feisty side that brought many smiles to those around her.  Helen was very much loved by her friends and caregivers at Sunshine.  Helen enjoyed playing the accordion, bird and butterfly watching, and expressing her artistic side through drawings and paintings. Helen’s welcoming smile and sassy sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Helen is survived by her sister, Stephanie Fink and brother, Mark (Charlene) Doroda, and nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Michael Doroda, sisters, Mary Ann Fisher and Anna Doroda, and half-brother, Joseph Weaver.

Funeral services for Helen will be conducted 12:00 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2022 at the Sunshine Community Spiritual Life Center, 7223 Maumee Western Rd., Maumee, OH  43537 (419) 865-0251.  Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in memory of Helen may be given to Sunshine Communities.  Walker Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon, OH (419) 691-6768 is assisting with Helen’s arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com .
