DOHERTY Helen C. Helen C. Doherty age 86, of Toledo died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Swan Creek Retirement Center. Helen was born to Clarence and Catherine Donovan McMenamin in New York, NY where she was raised. Helen graduated from Julia Richmond High School, New York City in 1940. In New York City, she started her career in the Chrysler Building. She was an executive secretary with the Maumee Public Schools for over 30 years retiring in 1993. Helen enjoyed bowling, playing cards and was an avid reader. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her including her many life long and cherished friends. Helen is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, John J. Doherty. They were married in New York City, on September 23, 1945. She is also survived by her son, Kevin Vicki Doherty; daughters, Karen Roger Warnock and Patricia Trish Doherty; grandchildren, Kyle and Evan Doherty, Brie and Devin Warnock, Ryan and Crystal Jenkins, and Courtney Thorn; one great grandson, Austin Click. Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, on Thursday, March 27, 2008, from 38 P.M. with a scripture service at 7 pm. Funeral services will begin on Friday at 9:15 A.M. followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joan of Arc Church, Toledo. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Maumee.
