Helen L. Boyer-Fought

Helen Boyer-Fought, 94, of Maumee, Ohio passed away Friday, November 25, 2022. She was born on December 3, 1927, in Botkins, Ohio to Edward and Velma (Hayes) Burklo.

Helen was rich in love and family. She married and widowed three times but was blessed with a large loving family. Helen enjoyed dancing, which she learned later in life, and celebrating birthdays and holidays, she had a passion for cooking and would feed everyone. She would never pass up a garage sale or rummage sale and was known to be an amazing bargainer. Helen loved camping with the grandchildren and traveling to Florida with her husband, Ken. She loved and cared for babies, making sure to snuggle them every chance she got. She even helped an orphanage by crocheting afghans for children. Helen was a faithful member of Athens Missionary Baptist Church, Walbridge and Ladies’ Oriental Shrine of North America.

Helen is survived by her sons, Tom (Charlene) Boyer and Jerry (Karen) Boyer; daughters, Judy Lewandowski, Jackie “Sue” Covarrubias, and Janice Caruso; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 19 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Jack, John (Lois), and Harvey Burklo, and Larry (Gretta) Patterson; and sisters, Doris Rutan, and Donna (Gene) Eads. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harold Boyer of 40 years, Ken Fought, and Walter Nejvara; sons, John, Ron, and Mike Boyer; brothers, Donnie, and Bob; sister, Rosemary; son-in-law, Paul Lewandowski; daughter-in-law, Ingrid, and Linda Boyer.

Friends will be received at Sujkowski Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Rd., Rossford, Ohio (419-666-1566) on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Perrysburg.
