Helen Rose Baker, 92, of Port Clinton died Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. She was a native of Lakeside, born February 15, 1926 to Mayvon and Anna (Hernandez) Mallory. She graduated from Lakeside High School in 1944 and then attended Euclid Academy of Cosmetology in Cleveland. Helen Rose enjoyed gardening, traveling, knitting, crocheting, and going to casinos in addition to various volunteer work and spending time with her family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, past president of the Rosary Altar Society, member of the Memorial Choir and hospitality, member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 1610, Life Member of the Humane Society of Ottawa County, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #113, Life Member of Magruder Hospital Auxiliary, and Member of the Riverview Auxiliary. Helen Rose is survived by her sons: Vincent P. (Glenda) Bennice of Sandusky, Larry (Carol) Bennice of Port Clinton, daughters: Karen (Keith) Ohm of Oak Harbor, Diane (Chris) Below of Michigan, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul Bennice of 32 years, husband, James Baker of 19 years, brothers: George, Robert and Morris Mallory and sister: Mable Drusbacky. Friends will be received 5-8, Monday, December 3, 2018 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 216 Washington St, Port Clinton. Prayers will be recited 9:30 am Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St, Port Clinton. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, or a charity of one’s choice.
