H.E. Skip Dunderman, Jr.

H.E. Skip Dunderman, Jr. of Toledo, OH passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at age 87. He was born September 29, 1926 in Toledo to Horace and Nellie Fishburn Dunderman. Skip worked at the Gulf Oil Company Toledo Refinery for over 36 years as a computer operator and programmer. After retiring, he worked part-time transporting automobiles for various dealerships in the Toledo market. He was a 1944 graduate of DeVilbiss High School and attended the University of Toledo. Skip was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II on the USS Anzio CVE-57. He was a Master Mason and Member in Good Standing for over 60 years, and a member of the American Legion. He was a life-long active member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where he and his wife, Betty, were married on December 22, 1946. An avid bowler up until his passing, he was always involved in the annual Toledo Lutheran Mens Tournament. Skip was an avid golfer who finally got his hole in one just a few years ago. He loved to spoil his little dog, Buddy. Skip was loved by too many to number, and was liked by all. He will be sorely missed. Skip is survived by Betty Dunderman, his loving wife for over 67 years; children, Linda John Bailiff, Nancy Borsani, and Daniel Dunderman, Sr.; grandchildren Jessica Mat Sweet, Chad Bailiff, Michelle Mike Sites, Daniel Dunderman, Jr., Ryver Dunderman, and Brionna Dunderman; great-grandchildren Asha Keckler and Taylor Sites; and brother Elmer Fink and family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Walker Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Bethany Lutheran Church 3274 Upton Ave Toledo, Oh 43613. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
