Hazel L. (Bouya) Pollauf of Northwood, Ohio passed away January 4, 2017 at home. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 18, 1922. Hazel worked at B.R. Baker & Co. after graduating from Central Catholic High School in 1941. After WWII, she married John B. Pollauf on October 27, 1945 and was a meticulous homemaker who raised six children. She also worked at Chris Berman’s Supper Club as their pastry chef. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Altar Rosary Society for many years and coordinated the parish prayer line for 21 years just passing the torch last month. Hazel was also a member of the Biretta Club at Cardinal Stritch High School in the beginning years of the school. Surviving family includes sons, Thomas (Marjorie), John (Karen); daughters, Janice (Ted) Wasserman, Joan, Ann (Forest) Watkins; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John; daughter, Carol; all of her brothers and sisters and her parents Joseph and Anna Bouya. Friends may call at Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Avenue, Friday, January 6, 2017 from 5:00-9:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM . Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Campus of Epiphany of the Lord Parish, 509 Oswald Street, Toledo, Ohio 43605. Visitation will also take place beginning at 10:00 AM prior to the Mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday. There will be no visitation at the funeral home on Saturday morning. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Helping Hands of St. Louis, 1933 Spielbush Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43604 or Epiphany of the Lord Parish, 729 White Street, Toledo, Ohio 43605.
