Harvey H. Butch Browning, age 77, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at his home. The son of Harvey and Louise, he was born October 30, 1940 in Toledo, OH. He is a graduate of Libbey High School. He received his Bachelors of Art in History from The Ohio State University and his Masters of Art in History from the University of Toledo. Harvey was a teacher with Toledo Public Schools and taught at various local high Schools. As a teacher, he was very active with the Toledo Federation of Teachers. He was a contract negotiator and held various other positions within the Teachers Federation at the local and state level. He enjoyed golf, bowling, reading, traveling and crossword puzzles. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Detroit Tigers. Harvey followed politics and was a member of the Zenobia Shrine. He loved to challenge his mind regularly and enjoyed trying to figure things out. He had the gift of gab and will be remembered for his willingness to help others who were less fortunate through encouragement or helping hands on. He is survived by his sister, Ruby Preston; dear friend, Brenda Hannan; 3 nieces and 6 nephews; and close friend, Gregory Wojciecjowski. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Browning; sisters, Dolores Ciarlelli and Helen Bentley. There will be no visitation and a graveside services will be privately.
