Harry (Michaels) Michalkiewicz, 88, of South Toledo, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. He was born to Joseph and Magdalene (Lubiatowski) Michalkiewicz on June 3, 1934, in Whitehouse, Ohio. He worked at the L.O.F. Glass Plant in Rossford for 38 years. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, as well as golfing, bowling, and the Cleveland Indians. Harry married his beloved wife, Janis “Jan” (Studer) Michalkiewicz, and they spent 43 wonderful years married before her passing in 2003.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy (Keith) Aschemeier; son, Michael (Tiffany Howell) Michalkiewicz; grandchildren, Brian and Ashley Timpe and Anya and Lukas Howell; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Harry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vincent, Frank, Mike, Chester, Walter, and his twin brother, Eugene; sisters, Helen, Irene, Virginia, and Gertrude.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, OH, where a Sharing of Memories Service will be shared at 6 p.m. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, OH. Entombment will be private at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in memory of Harry are asked to consider the Toledo Humane Society, 827 Illinois Avenue, Maumee, OH 43537.
