Harry Bogie E. Boger, Jr., age 91, of Oak Harbor, died Sunday afternoon, January 11, 2015, at Valley View Healthcare Center, Fremont, Ohio. Harry was born September 4, 1923, in Sandusky, Ohio, to Harry, Sr. and Lena M. (Christiansen) Boger. He retired as a tool grinder from New Departure and then worked for several years at Witt Orchard Farm Market after retirement. Bogie enjoyed hunting and fishing, and his memberships included the Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post #274, both in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida, as well as the U.A.W. Local #913 in Sandusky. Bogie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII. Bogie is survived by his children, Jean Jones, Marty (Robin) Boger, Jo (Carl) Earhart, Lee Stull and Tracy (Bill) Hutchinson; 20 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and best friend and companion, Pam Merkle. He was preceded in death by his parents, longtime companion and friend, Betty E. Cover, daughter, Yvonne Boger, two grandchildren, five siblings and former wife, Patricia Boger-Bartlett. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, where the funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Interment will take place in Rusha Cemetery, Oak Harbor, with military graveside services. Memorials for Bogie may be given to Carroll Township EMS or the donors choice.
