Harold A. Walliser

Harold Albert Walliser, age 85 of Wildwood, Florida, married to Betty M. Walliser, passed away on February 18, 2022, at The Cornerstone Hospice House and Palliative Care, in The Villages, FL.

He was born on February 8, 1937 in Reed Township, Seneca County to Leonard and Agnes (Miller) Walliser.  His wife, Betty, whom he married on July 6, 1957, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Attica, Ohio survives.  They celebrated 64 years of marriage.  Before graduating from Attica High School, in 1956, between his sophomore and junior years of high school, he spent the summer working for the construction company building an addition on the Attica High School.  The summer between his junior and senior years of high school working on the Pennsylvania Railroad at Carrothers on the Section Crew.

After graduating from high school, Harold worked a short time at the National Machinery Co. in Tiffin, Ohio.  He then worked for the Pioneer Rubber Co. for 20 years.  After that, he was self-employed as a gas distributor for Sohio for 10 years.  Harold also drove a truck for Bernard Lumber Co., in Attica and the school bus, for 5 years, for Seneca East Local Schools.

Harold and Betty spent many years traveling while he enjoyed being an announcer for the Ohio State Tractor Pullers Association; National Tractor Pullers Association,Tractor and Truck Pullers in Louisville, KY, American Tractor Pullers Association, and the Hot Rod Association.  Harold had the privilege of announcing the National Championship Tractor Pull in Bowling Green, OH for many years.

Harold and Betty worked for MainGate Merchandising Co., in Indianapolis, IN, traveling the US merchandising at the National Hot Rod Association events; Indy Car Racing Association events, National Finals Rodeo, and various events with Barrett Jackson Auto Auctions before retiring in Florida.

Harold was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Attica Ohio.  He served on the Cemetery Board and was a member of the Holy Name Society.  He was a member of the Attica Knights of Columbus and a member of the Tiffin 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.

Harold is survived by 3 daughters:  Deborah L. (Jim) Smith of The Villages, FL; Donna K. (Dennis) Reiter of Tiffin, Ohio; Denise M. (Bob) McGee of Etna, OH and 1 son:  Ned A. (Beth) Walliser of Danville, IN.  Harold had 10 grandchildren:  Briane (Sam) Mickelson, Renee (Scott) Barrios, Nicholas (Michelle) Reiter, Brittane (Cory) Bordner, Audrey (Mat) Maynard, Leslie (Thad) Johnson, Kelly McGee, Mara McGee, Logan Walliser and Braden Walliser.  He also had 11 great grandchildren:  Carter, Kai, and Brynn Mickelson; Grace and Noah Barrios; Justin and Macy Reiter; Madison and Ryder Bordner; Cooper and Ellie Johnson.   Other family members left to cherish his memory are his sister, Joan Bogner, and brothers, Jerry (Ernie) Walliser and Kenny (Vickie) Walliser.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Dick (Arlene) Walliser, sisters, Doris (Charles) Kaple and Phyllis Walliser, and brother-in-law, Paul Bogner.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 28, 2022, at 11:00 AM, in Attica, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Live streaming of the Mass may be accessed at www.ourladyofhopeattica.com. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Hope’s Social Hall from 9:00-11:00 AM Monday morning. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow, in the Social Hall.  Memorials may be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Attica, OH and/or Mass Intentions for Harold’s soul would be greatly appreciated.
