Harold C. Strauss

Harold C. Strauss, age 84, of Holland, Ohio passed away Monday, July 11, 2011 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born September 4, 1926 in Toledo to William and Bertha Hoops Strauss. Harold was an US Naval veteran serving during WWII, and was employed as a Millwright for O-I for 36 years. He was a member of the American Legion Holland Post # 646. Harold loved to play cards and delivered meals to seniors with the Senior Nutrition program. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Geraldine Guild Strauss whom he married May 21, 1949; children, James Joanne Strauss, Linda Gerald Toller Strauss and Jeffery Sandra Strauss; grandchildren, Angel David Dennison and Jennifer Tommy Flannery and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Gamble. Family and friends may visit Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 2:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee.
