Harold Paul Sponseller

Harold Paul Sponseller, 86, died on August 23, 2016 at his home in Maumee, OH surrounded by family members. Born June 22, 1930 in Alliance, OH to Ralph and Thelma Sponseller. He graduated from Mount Union College in Alliance, OH. After serving in the military he graduated from Ohio State University majoring in mechanical engineering. Later he worked for Owens Illinois and in 1974 started his own company Sponseller Group, Inc. performing engineering services for local manufacturers, builders and processors. A devoted family man with a wife of 59 years, two sons and a daughter. He enjoyed gardening and sailing when he was younger. Also enjoyed traveling to Sanibel Island in Florida for a couple weeks in the winter. Surviving are Mark (Shelly), Keith (Amy), Heidi (Darrel) Hotmire; grandchildren Ryan, Laura, Michael, Julianna, Megan, Erin; and great granddaughter, Noelle. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara and sister, Charlene Dixon. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Roth Memorial Cemetery, Monclova, OH.
