Harold Ralph Burnstine

Harold Ralph Burnstine, 88, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on October 8, 1934 in Springfield, Illinois, a son of the late Leo and Helen (Cornell) Burnstine. He married Maxine Joanne Lynch in 1954 and she preceded him in death on August 1, 2019.

He graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Aviation from the University of Illiois-Champaign. He flew as a Corporate pilot for Island Airlines, Central Soya, Miami University, Bohn Aluminum, and Aries Research & Development. He retired from flying in 1986 and ran Timely Print & Copy as well as Timely Tours.

Ralph was an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life. He also built and flew scale model airplanes. Ralph competed on multiple World Champion Teams and won many medals as he competed at the elite level. In 2019 he was inducted into the Academy of Model Aeronautics Scale Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his children, Catherine Burnstine, North Olmsted, OH, Cheryl (Joseph) Schraidt, Port Clinton, Babette Klacik (Stan Gebhardt), Port Clinton, and Eugene Burnstine, Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Meagan (Michael) Rohde, Oak Harbor, Monica (Michael) Morante, Columbus, Robert (Jennifer Price) Schraidt, Port Clinton, Mallory (Joshua) Peacock, Bellevue; great-grandchildren, Jameson, Jonas & Jude Rohde, Oak Harbor, Andrew & Olivia Peacock, Bellevue, Monroe & M.J. Morante, Columbus.

Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 11 am until Funeral Services at 12 pm. Burial will be private at Catawba Island Cemetery.
