Harold Joseph Mouch

Harold J. Mouch, 87, of Maumee, OH passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Avalon by Otterbein in Monclova. He was born October 1, 1921 in Toledo to Albert and Augusta Stanz Mouch. Harold was an outstanding athlete at Central Catholic where he is a member of the Hall of Fame and at the University of Dayton where he excelled on the football team. He was a Marine Corps veteran and owned and operated Harold J. Mouch and Son Insurance Agency for 45 years, retiring in 1997. Harold enjoyed playing bridge at the Maumee Senior Center and following the University of Notre Dame athletics. He coached basketball and football for Central Catholic, Hamilton Catholic where he led his team to the state finals for the 1947-1948 season and St. Francis. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth L. Mouch whom he married October 23, 1943; children, Bill Pat Mouch, Molly Jay Cooper Mouch, Dan Sharon Mouch, Carole Steve Sarian, Lori Tom Schoen, John Jane Mouch and Rob Kelly Mouch; 35 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters in-law, John Eleanor and Paul Madlyn Mouch and a sister, Florence Mouch. Family and friends may visit Thursday July 23, 2009 from 3-8 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee. Funeral services will begin Friday at 10:00 am in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee. Interment will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery.
