Harold A. Miller

Harold A. Miller, age 78, of Toledo, died peacefully on Sunday afternoon, January 26, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. He was born December 20, 1935 in Zanesville to the late Harold and Clara Hemmelspach Miller. He married Carol A. Page on December 17, 1955 in Toledo. Harold began working in the family business, Reliance Propane and Fuel Oil in Toledo, at the age of 15. He eventually took over as president of the company, a position he held until his recent retirement. Harold maintained an active presence in the community as a longtime member, past president and board member of: West Toledo Kiwanis Club, Greater Toledo Republican Club, Ohio Propane Gas Association and Ohio Petroleum Marketers Association. He was an active member of Advent Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. In his free time, Harold enjoyed spending time around the water, including fishing, boating and many summer days with his family around the pool. He also enjoyed many different genres of music. Harold will most be remembered for his zeal for life and the great love he had for his family. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Carol; loving daughters, Debra Tim Teague, Holly Miller and Tracie Jim McVicker; grandchildren, Lindy Scott, Crystal Dave, Brandon, Justin and Brittany; great grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, Russell, Paige, Tristan and Xavier; and brother, Larry Michele Miller. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Frieda Calendine. Visitation will be Thursday from 3-8 p.m. and Friday from 10-11 a.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 31, 2014.
