Harold Franklin Lumley

Harold F. Lumley age 84 of Whitehouse, OH formerly of Macon, GA and Lake Junaluska, NC site of the Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference Center passed away on April 1, 2009 at St. Lukes Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Harold was born in Macon, GA on September 14, 1924 to William C. and Clara M. Tucker Lumley. He was a graduate of Lanier Senior High School and Mercer University majoring in mathematics and psychology. Harold was employed by the Civil Service as a personnel technician for 32 years. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army serving his country during WWII. Harold was a lay speaker in the United Methodist Church and traveled internationally as a leader in the lay witness movement. He was a choir director in the United Methodist Church and enjoyed music and singing. He is survived by his loving wife, Joe Ann Nix Lumley; children, Harold F. Beverly Lumley Jr.; daughter, Cheryl Ann Chris Lumley- Klueber; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Newman C. Lumley and a sister, Martha Nell Szerszen. A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 4, 2009 at 2 pm at Waterville United Methodist Church, 102 N. Fifth St. Waterville, OH. In Lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Waterville United Methodist Church Building Fund or Arrowhead Dialysis Center 322 W. Dussel Dr. Maumee, OH 43537.
