Harold J. Dreher, age 97, of Toledo, died May 31, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born March 26, 1920 in Toledo to the late Frederick and Katherine (Griener) Dreher. Harold served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942-46. He retired as a carpenter of 47 years in 1982 from Rudolph Libbe where he was employed at the time. He has previously been employed at Willys Overland. Harold was an active member of The Church of St. Andrew United Methodist, where he was an usher and served on the building and grounds committee. He volunteered at St. Lukes Hospital with the Red Cross for 18 years and as a ranger at Brandywine Country Club for 16 years. Harold also enjoyed spending time with his friends, especially with his Tuesday morning group at Reynolds Gardens. He was a man who liked his daily routine and will be remembered as energetic , caring and understanding. Harold just liked to help people out. Surviving is his son, Dean; and sisters, Elaine Venier and Margie Sterling. Harold was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Henrietta; and siblings, Richard and Henry Dreher and Irene Keith. Visitation will be Monday from 2-7 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2017.
