Harold P. Daniel

August 6, 1956 — July 1, 2021

Harold P. Daniel (Hippie) of Akron passed away July 1, 2021 at his new home in Oak Harbor, Oh. A longtime resident of Akron Ohio, he had recently moved closer to be with his children and grandchildren. Harold was born August 6, 1956 to George and Mary Hammond (Betty) Daniel. Harold began his education at North High school in Akron before moving to Port Clinton and going to Port Clinton High School. He would later in life go on to get his GED. Harold had many career changes in his life, one brother-in-law even joked with him that he would need a “gutter spike” to hold all his pink slips together. He did everything from working in a bowling alley to being a personal driver for a wealthy business man in Akron. He really just loved meeting new people and exploring different things. He always had a knack for being “Mr. Fixit” which led to what he spent the past few years doing, from mobility walkers to RV’s he would try to buy and sell anything. Harold had many hobbies that ranged from skydiving to buying flying his own ultra-light plane. Whether he was finding the other side of a large ditch bank with his snowmobile or crashing his ultra-light into trees, he would always joke “I am a long-time student of the school of hard knocks” Harold was preceded in death by his father, George W. Daniel (2009); his mother Betty (1998); and his brother Richard Scott (2020) He is survived by his son, Robert (Lynette) Daniel; daughter, Leslie (Craig) Daniel-Porath; son, Jonah Daniel; brothers, Jason Scott of Frisco TX and Robert Scott of Newfoundland; and grandchildren, Chloe and Kaley Daniel (Robert and Lynette), Ashton Schroeder, Breydan and Ava Porath (Leslie and Craig). He had many friends but some very dear to his heart, Jeff Smith of Akron, Ronald Stump (Deceased) of Akron, and Debbie Neidich of Homer City PA who he spent last few years with commuting back and forth from Akron to Homer City to spend time with. The family asks for any contributions, or donations to be made to your local food bank. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water Street, Oak Harbor, had the honor to assist Harold’s family. To send an online condolence, please visit: www.walkerfuneralhomes.com
