Harold V. Cooley

Harold V. Cooley, 94, of Port Clinton, OH died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton, OH. He was born on October 24, 1916 in Amherst, OH to Clarence R. and Margaret Petersen Cooley. He graduated from Port Clinton High School. On August 24, 1940 in Port Clinton, OH he married Jeanette T. Younker and she preceded him in death on September 12, 2004. Harold worked as a welder/machinist for Blacks Machine in Port Clinton, OH for 35 years, before retiring. Harold enjoyed archery hunting, photography, duck carving and he made collectible dollhouse miniatures. He also enjoyed traveling and visited most of the United States. Harold is survived by his loving family: daughters: Lynda Richard Stiefel and Sherril Mike Koehler both of Port Clinton, OH, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 2 brothers. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH with interment to follow. Memorial contributions are suggested to Back to the Wild, Ottawa County Humane Society, or Stein Hospice. Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, Port Clinton, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.
