Harold Dale Babcock, age 87 of Toledo passed away May 30, 2016 in the Goerlich Center, Sylvania. He was born in Toledo on October 14, 1928 to Ray and Irene (Goachee) Babcock. Harold was a jet mechanic at Teledyne for over 20 years, retiring in 1987. He was also a 50 plus year member of the United Auto Workers union where he also served as a steward. A caring people person he was dedicated to his family but also to others who needed help. An almost 50 year member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church he enjoyed building model ships and airplanes. Harold enjoyed camping, especially with his grandchildren and wintering in Florida with his wife. Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Bona; daughter Deborah Filas; son James (Jose Campa) Babcock; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister Marjorie Dye. He was preceded in death by daughter Judith Stachowiak; sons-in-law Carl Stachowiak and Gary Filas; and brothers Lawrence, Burdette, Raymond, Donald, and Robert Babcock. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Thursday after 2 PM where services will follow at 7 PM. Graveside services will be held Friday at 10:30 AM in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park (please meet inside the gate). The family suggests memorials to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 3934 W. Laskey Rd.
