Harold A. Aubry Jr., age 76, passed away at his Maumee home on Friday, February 19, 2021. Harold attended St. Agnes Grade School, Divine Word Seminary, a graduate of John Carroll University, and was a proud Army Veteran. He began his career working for Owens Illinois on their audit staff where he met his wife Linda while auditing a plant in Venezuela. Most of his career was spent in Insurance Sales and Agency Building, during which time he received many awards and honors. After retirement, he spent many years caring for his father, mother, mother-in-law and other relatives. He and his wife Linda, married 52 years, enjoyed many years traveling. Price Edward Island in Canada was a favorite, along with cruises to Central America, Alaska, and Europe as well as extended stays through Italy and Spain. Harold was often seen on his tractor enjoying their large property. He was never without something to do, whether it be feeding the deer, mowing the lawn, landscaping, or just finding a hole to dig. As an Ohio State Extension Master Gardener and Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist, he and his wife were often at seed swaps and plant sales. He was happiest doing anything outdoors. Harold was a long time member of St. Rose Catholic Church, a member of the Perrysburg Knights of Columbus Council 7978 for 40 years and a member of the Perrysburg Rotary Club. Harold was a lifelong learner in many ways. He had a love of research, reading and teaching others. He had a great love of entertaining, food and cooking and often enjoyed teaching his son and grandsons the art of breadmaking and cooking of all kinds. Harold loved a good debate but always had a big and generous heart. Overall, he was devoted to his wife, his son and daughter-in-law, and above all his four grandchildren. All he ever wanted was to see them happy. Harold’s mantra was “know yourself” and he lived always with that in mind. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marjorie; sister, MaryAnn; brother, Thomas; and sister-in-law, Ina Sue Aubry. He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Harold A., III (Jennifer); grandchildren, Lauren, Eric, Nicholas, Ryan; siblings, Marilyn Jesionowski (Bob), Sharon Bayer (Fred) James (Kim), Richard, Barbara Stefanelli (John), John (Becky), Patrick (Susan), Donald (Jamie) and many nieces and nephews. A private Memorial Mass will be held for the family and a celebration of life is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Rose Scholarship Fund or the Ohio State Extension Master Gardeners Program. Arrangements by Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home.
