Hannah Davies

January 6, 1921 — November 24, 2011

Hannah Davies passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Thanksgiving Day. Born in 1921, Hannah was a remarkable woman who led a long, productive and loving life. She received her college degree from the University of Rochester and utilized her education in lifelong career pursuits at a time when many women were expected and content to stay at home and raise children. Even so, with her independent spirit and will, she still managed to successfully raise five children, all of whom can attest that their lives are far greater as a result of her influence. Hannah was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved her family dearly and worked tirelessly for their well-being and accomplishments. Even in times of turmoil, her resourcefulness, logical thinking and commitment provided a steady comfort to all who knew her and were close to her. Hannah worked as an accountant for National Flight Services for more than forty years, retiring when she was only 80 years. She continued being industrious by refinishing antiques, knitting for family and various charities, gardening, and helping almost anyone who needed it. Her parents, Robert and Marie Esterman preceded her in death, as did her brother Robert Esterman and former husband, Robert Davies. Hannah is survived by her five children Lynn Don Pribor, Toledo; Mark Barbara Davies, Colorado Springs; Elizabeth Jean-Claude Saada, Dallas; Katherine Muqaddam, Toledo and David Lorraine Davies, San Francisco. She is also survived by many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, all of whom will miss their Gummy terribly. God bless you Hannah, Mom, Gummy. You have been and will always be so special to all of us. Friends may visit the family from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd.. Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to the SPCA, as she loved her animals dearly, or a charity of your own choosing. Condolences may be shared with the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com
