Harold Glenn Holmes was born on May 8, 1941, in Anderson, Indiana, to Harold R. Holmes and Mary Jane (Fulton) Holmes. He passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025.
   
  
He attained the rank of Eagle Scout and devoted a good deal of his life to Scouting leadership.
   
  
Glenn was an avid biker and participated in many riding events. He graduated from Holland High School where he played the trombone in the band. His love of music was rekindled when he joined the Sylvania Senior Center after retiring from many years at the Kellermeyer Company. Glenn loved playing music and entertaining people. He also took up woodworking and creating many lovely items for family and friends.
   
  
Glenn was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He was always there when you needed him. He was also a friend of cats – rescuing and fostering countless felines.
   
  
Glenn is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lora; son, Bryan Glenn Holmes; daughter, Stephanie; step-children, Gail (Brad) White, Cheryl (Gene) Wiesehan, Skip (Pam) Miller, and David (Julie) Miller; sisters, Mary Ruth Voltz of Portland, OR, and Phyllis Elaine Irwin of Santa Maria, CA; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
   
  
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christine; and younger brother, Charles Fulton (Dee) Holmes.
   
  
Friends and family are invited to visit at the Sylvania Senior Center, 7140 W Sylvania Ave, Sylvania, OH on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A service will be held at the Senior Center with Rev. George O’Reilly officiating.
   
  
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
