H. Brett Blevins, 64, of Port Clinton, Ohio, died Thursday, November 18, 2010, in H.B. Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. Brett was born December 9, 1945, in Sawyerwood, Ohio, to Dale and Sylvia Phillips Blevins. On September 21, 1968, he married Joanne M. Zunk, who survives. Brett worked as a fork lift operator for Kelsey Hayes for over 30 years, retiring in 2005. He especially loved the outdoors, boating and riding motorcycles with his wife. Brett served in the U.S. Air Force as a medic during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the Oak Harbor American Legion Post #114. In addition to his loving wife, Joanne, Brett is survived by his brothers, Larry Ruthanne Blevins and Rodney Diana Blevins both of Port Clinton, sister, Sharon Ron Sprunger of Loveland, OH, sisters-in-law, Myra Blevins of Mississippi, Marian Blevins of Port Clinton, and Tammy Zunk of Fremont, and mother-in-law, Marjorie Zunk of Oak Harbor. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and his step-brother, Ronald Bordner of Port Clinton. Brett was preceded in death by his parents, step father, Paul Bordner, brothers, Ronald and Douglas Blevins, father-in-law, Ralph Zunk, and brother-in-law, Tommy Zunk. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2010, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory in Oak Harbor. The funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2010 by Reverend Keith Hunsinger. Interment will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery, Port Clinton, with military graveside services conducted by the Oak Harbor American Legion Post 114. Memorial contributions for Brett may be directed to the Ottawa County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
