Guadalupe Sanchez

Guadalupe Sanchez, 87, of Perrysburg, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by his loving family. Guadalupe was born September 26, 1935 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Jose and Antonia (Fuentes) Sanchez. He married Maria “Reyes” Castro at St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg on October 31, 1954 and they spent 52 wonderful years together until she passed on October 7, 2006.

Guadalupe worked over 43 years. He retired from Chrysler on February 28, 1989 and from ICM Krebsoge on October 1, 1997. He was an avid antique collector. He collected coins, antique farm equipment and antique cast iron skillets. He loved taking his wife, Maria to BINGO, while he hit up the auctions around the area that he could find.

Guadalupe was a member of St. Rose Church in Perrysburg. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Elisa (Rosendo) Rodriguez; grandchildren, Rosendo Rodriguez, Jr. and Mario (Eloisa) Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Alejandro, Gabriella, Aniyah and Annalicia; siblings, Juan (Guadalupe) Sanchez, Tony (Carol Moreno) Sanchez and Guadalupe (Rosalio) Contreras and many nieces and nephews. Along with his wife, Maria, he was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Oscar, Jose Mario, Rosa, Jose Luis, Feliz and Benigno.

Friends and family will be received Monday, November 14, 2022 from 3-7 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home, Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, OH at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
