Gregory John Wingate

Gregory John Wingate, age 54, of Toledo, died on August 27, 2018. He was born on July 3, 1964 in Toledo to John and Mary Ann (Ashman) Wingate. Greg attended Gesu Elementary School and was a 1982 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He continued his education at the University Community & Technical College receiving an Associate in Arts degree in 1985 and Bachelors of Science in Administrative Services degree from the University of Toledo in 1992. He was employed as a painter for the University of Toledo and Loeb Painting; and often was contracted to paint on the side. He had a love for music and was a self taught electric guitar player. Greg enjoyed sports and was an avid Detroit Tigers and New York Jets fan. Surviving Greg are his father, John; brother, Mike (Tracie); sister, Diane Yost; nieces, Tiffanie and Lindsey; nephews, Tim and Chris; great-niece, Callie; and great-nephew, Colten. He was preceded in death by his mother. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W.
