Gregory A. Smith, 68, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away peacefully into the arm of Jesus on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. He was born on July 15, 1952, the son of Albert and Eloise (Strickland) Smith, in Birmingham, AL. He married Michelle A. Potridge in Genoa, Ohio on August 28, 2004 and she survives. Greg was a truck driver for 42 years retiring in 2014 from the Cimarron Trucking Company of Genoa. In his retirement years he was a vehicle transporter for Baumann Chevrolet and Ford in Genoa. Greg proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1970-1972. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, watching classic western movies and a good cigar. Greg is survived by his wife, Michelle, sons Aaron Smith and Evan Smith, father, Albert Smith, Jr., three grandchildren and one great grandchild and sisters, Vicky (Mike) Crawford, Renea (Larry) Whetstone and Cynthia (Roy) Brown. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eloise and two brothers, Carlton and Miles Smith. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at the Intersection Church, 1640 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616, where services will start at 12:00 noon. Masks and social distancing are required for the visitation and service. Those attending are asked to park in the South and West areas of the church parking lot. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be directed to the church. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
