Gregory A. Laplant, Sr.

Gregory A. LaPlant, 56, passed away suddenly, February 14, 2010, at Toledo Hospital. Greg was born January 5, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, to Gerald and Marilyn LaPlant. He was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales high school in Toledo, OH. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Patty Szymanski on June 27, 1975 in Toledo, Ohio. Greg was in the Construction Industry for 33yrs. He was a dedicated and hard worker throughout his life and did what he loved. Greg enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, spending time with his friends the church ladies and the choir boys and above all else, spending time with his wife, children and granddaughter. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Greg is survived by his loving wife, Patty LaPlant of Sylvania, OH; children, Gregory LaPlant Jr. of Los Angeles, CA, Holly Brad Barnes of Sylvania, OH, Tricia LaPlant of Sylvania, OH and Amanda LaPlant of Cincinnati, OH; granddaughter, Ava Barnes of Sylvania, OH; sister, Diana Steve Taylor of Maumee, OH; brother Jeff Judy LaPlant of Adrian, MI; aunt, Carol Mike Hammel of Roswell, GA and several nieces and nephews. Greg is preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received from 4-8 P.M. on Friday, February 19, at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd., Toledo, OH. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home with prayers on Saturday, February 20, at 9 A.M. followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 5373 S.
