Gregory Allen Koepfler, born December 30, 1959, passed away peacefully at home on September 30, 2026, at the age of 66.
Greg was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life and the people around him. He could often be found trying his luck at the casino, watching football, cheering on his beloved Chicago Bears and Ohio State Buckeyes, relaxing with a Hallmark movie, or spending time outside working in the yard. He took pride in keeping busy outdoors and was the kind of neighbor who was always willing to lend a hand, share a conversation, or simply be there when someone needed him.
Those who knew Greg will also remember his famous mac and cheese, a family favorite that became one of his trademarks. Whether he was cooking for the people he loved, working around the house, enjoying a football game, watching one of his favorite Hallmark movies, or spending time with family and friends, Greg had a way of making ordinary moments memorable.
Family was an important part of Greg's life. He leaves behind his daughters, Melissa Koepfler and Stephanie (Sean) Ball; his lovingly proclaimed "favorite Chicago daughter," Kellie (AJ) DeMarco; and his grandchildren, Tyler, Mallory, Bryson, Oakley, and Enzo (Alonzo). He is also survived by his brothers, Edward Koepfler, Thomas (Nancy) Koepfler, Alex (Sandy) Koepfler, and James (Debbie) Koepfler, as well as many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Catherine Koepfler, and his loving fiancée, Brenda Mowka.
Greg will be remembered for his neighborly spirit, his love of family, his sense of humor, his loyalty to his teams, and the many familiar traditions and memories he leaves behind. Those who loved him will miss his presence deeply, but will carry forward the stories, laughter, meals, football Sundays, Hallmark movie nights, and everyday moments that made Greg who he was.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home in Maumee, Ohio. A Celebration of Life honoring Greg will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
