Greer J. Chio

Greer J. Chio, 95, formerly of Tiffin Street in Port Clinton, passed away peacefully at Elmwood Assisted Living, Fremont, OH. He was born in Bono, OH to Joe and Goldie Bodi Chio. On April 15, 1937 in Toledo, OH he married Ellen Jane Lerch, and she preceded him in death. Greer worked at E.O.D. as a Tinsmith for 16 years. He would later work as a fabricator for Lowes Machine Shop in Oak Harbor, retiring in 1976. Greer is survived by his sons, Larry Eleanor of Oregon, OH, Floyd Ellen of Rock Hills, SC, Michael Edie of Jackson, MI, and Jeffrey Ann Chio of Oak Harbor, OH; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; Greer was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ellen, brothers, Wade, Joe Jr., Bill and Stanley Chio; sisters, Lucille Morrison, Donna Rae Mackey and Marie McCallister. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday March 27, 2009 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor. Visitation will be Thursday March 26, 2009 from 2-8 p.m. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown, OH.
