Grace L. Wolf, a beloved resident of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed peacefully on October 6, 2025, at the remarkable age of 100. Born on October 2, 1925, in Altus, Oklahoma, she was the cherished daughter of Eugene and Naomi Margurite (Fox) Talkington.
In a union that would span more than six decades, Grace married James A. Wolf on December 10, 1944 and he preceded her in death on June 27, 2009. Their love story began at the Air Force Base, where she met Jim while he proudly served as a pilot. Together, they built a life in Port Clinton, arriving in 1946, where Jim and his brother Richard co-owned the Gerner-Wolf Funeral Home and Wolf Furniture Store. Grace played an instrumental role in both businesses, lending her talent and heart as she assisted Jim at the funeral home and showcased her creative spirit as an interior designer at the furniture store until her retirement in 1984.
A pillar of strength and compassion, Grace devoted her time to volunteering with the American Red Cross, serving her community with kindness and grace. Above all, she treasured her family, finding joy in the laughter and achievements of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family gatherings were the highlights of her life, where her warm smile and genuine spirit brought comfort and love to all.
Grace was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a place where her faith flourished and where she cultivated meaningful connections with others. She was also a proud member of the Port Clinton Yacht Club, reveling in her daily swims as part of the spirited "Wet Ones."
She is survived by daughters, Gene Heinzerling and Linda (John) Gluth; granddaughters, Jule (Tom) Clunk and Jacque (Aaron) Brown; step-grandchildren, Dan (Cheri) Heinzerling, Dana (Doug) Moore, John (Jan) Gluth, Dale Gluth, Jeffery ( Diane) Gluth; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Hanna, Morgan, Mallory, Isabella and Gavin; and many close nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene & Margurite; husband, James; sister, Margene; sister, Pauline; brother, Wilbur; and sister, Mary.
