Grace Harbauer

Grace M. Harbauer, age 93, of Perrysburg passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2012 in Milan, Ohio. She was born on March 30, 1919 in Grasslake, Michigan to Benjamin and Mary Mulcay Washburne. Grace met her husband, Paul, in Columbus and they were married at St. Rose in Perrysburg. They became a military family and after WWII, they returned to Perrysburg to raise their growing family. Grace was previously employed at Charles R. Stevens as a secretary. She also worked at Keever-Starch and at the Columbus Dispatch. She loved to volunteer at St. Rose School Cafeteria. Grace enjoyed pinochle, bridge, square dancing and bird watching which she passed on to her family. Her grandchildren considered her the Best Grandma. She is survived by her children, Sister Janet Harbauer of the Medical Mission Sisters, Jean John Ringlein, Linda Tom Scothorn and Ron Gaye Harbauer; and grandchildren, Charles R Zalac Jr., William, Brian, Matthew and Sarah Harbauer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Harbauer; and siblings, Mabel Albert Wiese, Carrie Haswell Staehle, James Lillian Washburne, Laura Paul Wells, Infant Baby Alice Washburne, Ruth Kenneth Ingle, Louis Wilma Washburne, Horace Dorothy Washburne, Lucille Meade Schott and Francis Don Ashton. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 2 to 8 pm at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant, Maumee. Funeral services will begin with prayers at the funeral home at 10:00 am on Friday followed by a procession to St. Rose, 215 E. Front St., Perrysburg for a Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 am.
