Grace L. Adkins

Grace L. Adkins, 92, of Wayne, MI and formerly of Perrysburg passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law where she lived in her later years. She was born in Martin, OH on September 9. 1925 to Rudolph and Ida (Kunkle) Boehm. Grace was married in Toledo on May 19, 1950 to Norman E. Adkins who preceded her in death on March 11, 2011. She was a 1943 graduate of Waite High School and worked first as a billing clerk with International Harvester and later as a Study Hall Monitor and Kitchen Manager for 14 years at the Perrysburg Jr. High School. Grace was a charter member of the Lutheran Church of the Master in Perrysburg where she taught Sunday School and was in charge of the funeral luncheons. She was also a member of the SERO Club, the Holiday Park Water Classes and volunteered for the Perrysburg Christians United food bank. Grace also loved to cook and especially bake pies. She is survived by her children, Amy L. (Tim) Kramer of Wayne, MI and Russell N. Adkins of London, OH; four grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by both parents, brother, Louis Boehm and sister, Jeannette Williams. Friends will be received from 2-8 P.M. on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH 43551. Visitation will continue after 10 A.M. on Thursday, September 21st at the Lutheran Church of the Master, 28744 Simmons Rd.in Perrysburg where funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Charles Campbell and Pastor Jaci Tiell officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Cemetery. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Lutheran Church of the Master.
