Gordon W. Gordy Jensen, 85, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Monday February 10, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, Ohio. He was born on September 16, 1928 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Russell and Alma Casperson Jensen. Gordy co-owned Jensen Jewelers Inc., a Toledo jewelry manufacturer, until his retirement in 1994. The business remains in operation at 4481 Monroe St., under his son and nephew, a third generation of family management. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in WWII. He was a member of the Zenobia Shrine Boaz Lodge No. 669, Fort Meigs Chapter 29, Knights Templar Toledo Commandery No. 7, Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo and Royal Order of Jesters Court 21. Along with his brother Dick, Gordy founded the Shriners Motorcycle Corps, whose members appeared in parades on large white motorcycles. Gordy also was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maumee and Brandywine Country Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia, daughter, Leslie Randy Dybala, sons, Jim DeAnna Jensen and Jeff Cheryl Jensen, grandchildren, Hilary, Melissa, Gregory, Danielle, Samantha, Douglas, Kaitlin, Kyle, Nathan, Nicole, Matthew, and Jared, great granddaughter, Samantha-Jo. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard, and sisters, Barbara, Phyllis, and Marlys. The family would like to specially thank the staff at the Lakes of Monclova, Hospice of Northwest Ohio and special friend, Julie Harrington. Family and Friends will be received on Thursday February 13, 2014 from 2:00-7:30 p.m. in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio 43537 where a memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
