Goldie Wood

Goldie Wood, 67, of Port Clinton, Ohio, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 in her residence. She was born in Quincy, KY on September 10, 1946 to Richard and Bertha E. Royster Butler. She married David R. Wood in Port Clinton on November 22, 1991 and he preceded her in death on September 4, 2002. Goldie was a breast cancer survivor who loved life, and lived it to the fullest. Her family was very important to her and she cherished every minute she was with them. Goldie also enjoyed the special company of her pets, Tootsie & Suzie. She often could be found gardening, canning, and Honkey Tonk dancing! Survivors of Goldie include her mother, Bertha E. Butler, daughters, Theresa L. Thomas Broadstock, and Mary K. White, sons, Frederick S. Ruthann Wenger III, and David R. Hailey Wenger, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sister, Shirley Mike Key, and brother, Larry Butler. Goldie was preceded in death by her father, Richard, husband, David, brother, John Butler, and sister Kathy Grotes. A funeral service for Goldie will be conducted at 11 AM, Thursday, June 27, 2013 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St. Port Clinton, OH. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 2-8 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Interment will be in the Catawba Island Cemetery. It is suggested that memorials be directed to the family.
