Godfrey "Rod" J. Rodriguez

Godfrey J. “Rod” Rodriguez, 83, of Toledo, Ohio, passed on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. He was comfortable at home and surrounded by family. Godfrey was born on November 8, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio to Juan and Ursula (Lupercio Medoza) Rodriguez. After high school, Rod served his country as a supply clerk in the US Army. Rod married the love of his life, Judy (Hessenuis) and they spent over 54 years together and raised two sons. Rod was diligent and efficient, becoming a die setter at Toledo Stamping. He retired after 42 years. He kept himself busy, visiting the whole family every single weekend. He loved to joke and play, and that quick wit and smile will be missed. Rod is survived by his caring sons, David Michael and Jeffrey Rodriguez; many grandchildren; even more great-grandchildren; and countless extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years; his parents; and 17 siblings. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio. Services will begin at 5:00 pm that evening. Rod will be privately laid to rest in Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in his name to ProMedica Ebeid Hospice.
