Gloria Reed

Gloria J. Reed, 84, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Hospice of NW Ohio Ebeid Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 13, 1941 to Gaylord and Gertrude (Emahiser) Glickert, and lived her entire life in Toledo.

Gloria graduated from Devilbiss High School, class of 1959. She married Richard (Rick) Reed in 1960 and together they had their two loving children, Tracy and Todd. Rick sadly passed away in 1980. Gloria worked her entire career at Dura Magnetics in Sylvania as an office administrator.

Gloria would later unite with Wayne Estrel, enjoying a very happy life together until Wayne’s passing in 2019. Together they loved to travel (New Smyrna Beach being her favorite destination), spend time with family and friends, prepare meals, and just be together. She was a wonderful cook and an avid sports fan (Go Bucks, Browns, and Indians!).

Most importantly, Gloria cared deeply about her family and friends, always looking for opportunities to spend time with, and do things for them. While family always came first, friends both old and new were also important to her. Her kind gestures and thoughtfulness will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Gloria was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Rick, son Todd Reed, soul mate Wayne, sister GayeAnne Anderson, and son-in-law Marc Fanning.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Tracy Fanning (Carlile Robertson); stepsons, Tom Estrel (Tracy), Tim Estrel (Sara), and Terry Estrel (Mary); grandchildren, Spencer (Kelly), Josh (Allie), Jake, Chris (Corinne), Aaron, Alex, Brittany, Dianna, Connor, Cody, Chase, and Tryston; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Teddy, Annie and Thomas, as well as so many dear friends and family.

A Celebration of Life Open House for Gloria Reed will be held on May 17 from 12 pm – 3 pm at Five Lakes Church (McCord Rd location) – 4765 N. McCord Rd in Sylvania. There will be a time of Remembrance and Sharing at 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to Hospice of NW Ohio. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Hospice of NW Ohio Ebeid Center for their care and compassion. Arrangements were entrusted to Walker Funeral Home.
