Gloria Paredes Meyer

Gloria Cantu Paredes Meyer, 74, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 30, 2022. She was born to parents José & Pauline (Cantu) Paredes on May 9, 1948 in New Braunfels, TX. Gloria grew up in Toledo, Ohio and attended Woodward High School. She worked many years in data entry for Superior Overall and was a proud member of Teamsters. She was blessed to be loved dearly by many, especially her husband Douglas Meyer of 28 years. His love for her was unconditional and matched by few. Gloria was a free-spirited soul who enjoyed life very much. Her laugh was contagious and her smile second to none. Her heart & soul was full of kindness. Even in her last days, there wasn’t a nurse or doctor that didn’t receive a compliment before exiting the room. If you knew Gloria, you knew she was one of a kind.

Gloria was proceeded in death by her parents, José & Pauline, step-father José Rocha, and brother, José Paredes. She is survived by her spouse, Douglas Meyer; son, Troy Dixon (Mindi); daughter, Dené Sanfillipo (James); step-daughter, Lisa Meyer; sister, Lydia Raschka (John); grandchildren, Taylor & Trent Dixon, Maria, Gina & Julia Sanfillipo, Theresa & Zoe Tokles; neices, Lisa Riley, Carey Bias & Heidi Rodriquez, and great grandchildren

Visitation will be from 4-7:00pm on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH. Funeral services will begin at 1pm on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the funeral home with a prayer service followed by Inurnment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
