Glenn D. Summers, “Bunny”, age 54, passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2024. Glenn was born December 7, 1969 to Elnora “Ann” (Hearn) and Willie Summers, Jr. in Crestline, Ohio.
Glenn met Renee, the love of his life, 30 years ago. They later got married in Las Vegas on September 15, 2015.
Glenn was a beloved team member at General Motors Toledo Transmission Plant for nearly 15 years.
In his spare time, Glenn enjoyed riding his Harley, attending Toledo Walleye hockey games, watching NASCAR races while cheering for #8 Kyle Busch, spending time with his cherished grandchildren, and enjoying the time spent with family that adored him.
Glenn was a selfless person who was always helping others, and he made many long-lasting, impactful friendships that were significant part of his life.
Glenn was an active member of the Moose Lodge 1579 and the UAW Local 14.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife Renee, stepson Randy Johnson (Kaylie), three beautiful grandchildren: Ryann, Jude & Briar. His father Willie Summers Jr., sister Janice Coleman, nieces: Laken Hunt (Stan), Khiley Taylor (Walt), & Ketryna Soals (Greg), mother-in-law Christina Velasquez. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Glenn was lovingly known as “Kenny” to his dear friend, Jeff Klein. He has two well-loved cats, Richard Wildflower and Squeaky.
Glenn was preceded in death by his mother, Elnora “Ann” Stallings, a brother Roger Summers, Grandmother Irene Summers, Grandfather Willie Summers Sr., Grandmother Nellie Hearn, Grandfather George R. Hearn.
Friends and family are invited for a time of visitation on Friday, March 1 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. and Saturday, March 2 from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. A Sharing of Memories Service will be held on Saturday March 2 at 3 P.M. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. Toledo, Ohio with Chaplain Vaughn Patterson officiating.
Glenn was passionate about supporting causes focused on helping special needs people and organizations that benefited cancer patients and survivors. He regularly volunteered to help with the Special Olympics, and he rappelled down a 16-story building in support of cancer patients and survivors for Over the Edge for Victory.
